Hi, this is my blog to share encouraging thoughts - mostly from the Holy Bible and publications of the Watchtower Society. It started as a challenge to do one thing (write something encouraging was my choice) for one hundred days. I like doing it, so i decided not to stop at 100! Have a great and uplifting day, and may Jehovah bless you. : )

#DTK "'Give us today our bread for this day'.—Matt. 6:11.
Jesus taught his followers to pray the above. Bread was a staple in the diet of many ancient peoples, including the Israelites. Though bread is considered a simple food, the chemical process that transforms a few basic ingredients into delicious bread is anything but simple. When the Bible was being written, the Israelites used wheat or barley flour and water to make bread. Leaven, or yeast, was sometimes used in the bread-making process. These simple substances combine to form an astonishing number of chemical compounds that have active links to one another. The exact relationship between these compounds is not fully understood. Moreover, the way bread is digested in the body is another amazingly intricate process. No wonder the psalmist sang: “How many your works are, O Jehovah! All of them in wisdom you have made”! (Ps. 104:24) Are you similarly moved to laud Jehovah? w08 8/15 3:9, 10"

no dread of calamity Prov 1:33
As for the one listening to me, he will reside in security and be undisturbed from dread of calamity.”
America's first floating Kingdom Hall
Dear All
Hope you are all well. As usual it's been a while since our last update.
Please forgive us but the time to type an email and go to the Internet café. Has been time we never seem able to find. But that's because we are so busy enjoying our assignment.
Our assignment has become a lot more interesting and to be honest a lot more work now that we have finished central America's first floating Kingdom Hall. As most of you will know we had the need of a place to meet within the islands, yet with land so very hard to find and the difficulties of the people living on islands, it was decided that a floating Kingdom Hall was the way to go.
Within a week this went from my scribbles on a notepad to a real project as the first donations arrived. We purchased all the steel we needed and decided to get started. As we have never built anything that floats or attempted to weld before, you can imagine our many concerns. We enlisted about 6 local brothers and sisters to help with the task at hand.
After the first few days we had the first section of the framework made and then we really started to worry. We think even a few in the Branch felt the same as a few from the Branch came to take a look and share in the testing of the first section at the lake. You can imagine our joys as it seemed to float very well. Although our worries returned as we realized that we still needed two more sections, floor, roof, veranda, seats and people.. We can honestly say we prayed earnestly every night and literally one month later, through blood, sweat, and tears, it was time to launch. We spent the day on, in and under the water putting the Hall together again.
The Branch had been a great support and Brother Ken Brian of the Branch Committee decided to visit for the weekend with his wife Sharon and give the first two talks as this Hall will be used in more than one place.. In total, we had over 45 in attendance and we didn't sink!!
The Hall has really become quite famous in the islands. Everyone waves as they see us towing the hall from one side of the islands to the next.
We were happily surprised with our first meeting attendance as we had not preached or informed most of the people in the area that we would be having the meeting. When we arrived and started to anchor the Hall, it started to rain incredibly hard, like it does in a rain forest. We were thinking that we would have a very low attendance. The three o'clock time arrived and passed - and no one was there. We were really down but, at about 4 o'clock, people started to arrive. We were amazed but couldn't be angry over their time-keeping. They had walked more than half an hour, in the rain, through the jungle. One carried 3 children. They were literally drenched. When they arrived, all were over the moon to finally have there own place to meet.
One thing that has been made clear and commented upon by all is that, for sure, Jehovah's spirit is at work in this remote area. In such a little time, we have seen so many families who desire to study. Our Memorial attendance was over 70.
Several families have separated from their prior religion, and made great sacrifices to visit the Assembly.
Starting from scribbles in a pad and 5 dollars, now we have been able to construct a floating Kingdom Hall!
All of this could only have been possible with the help of Jehovah's spirit and you loving brothers who helped in many different ways.
Please pass on and forward this email and the loving thanks of not only ourselves, but the two groups that have now been formed in the Islands of Nicaragua.
We have received emails and donations from Aruba to Iceland. There were many loving comments and experiences. One family from the states told us how the children made the decision to go without Pizza Night and pocket money to help with the funding of the Hall. Another brave brother decided to take his guitar and vocal talents to the high street in order to raise money, and we are sure that many others sacrificed time effort and money too. Its certainly at times like this we are reminded of what a privilege it is to be part of such a world-wide brotherhood.
As mentioned in the beginning, please forgive us if our updates are not too often but perhaps you will understand when we tell you that it has literally taken 4 days to write this e-mail due to shortage of electricity, rainstorms and various other things. Please be assured that we appreciate your kind words and support every time we make it to the Internet Café. We are attempting to attach a few photos so that you can see the floating Kingdom Hall.
We are currently looking for a truck in order to take our studies from the islands to the special assembly day which falls at the end of the month. As all have shown such an interest in being there.
We are awaiting and organizing for a couple who are arriving from Canada who are going to work along with us in the more than 100 islands that we still haven't preached in, so we are also looking for either building or buying another small boat that they can then use on the other side of the islands.

So as you can tell there is plenty going on, so remember if you feel like a change why not come and visit.
So that's about all the news from this side apart from the various new wild animals we have been given as donations but that can wait till the next email.
So take care and keep in touch. All our love and best wishes

Jehovah's undeserved kindness by Jinojosa
RT @jinojosa: (2 Corinthians 12:6-10) 6 For if I ever do want to boast, I shall not be unreasonable, for I shall say the truth. But I abstain, in order that no one should put to my credit more than what he sees I am or he hears from me, 7 just because of the excess of the revelations. Therefore, that I might not feel overly exalted, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, an angel of Satan, to keep slapping me, that I might not be overly exalted. 8 In this behalf I three times entreated the Lord that it might depart from me; 9 and yet he really said to me: “My undeserved kindness is sufficient for you; for [my] power is being made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, will I rather boast as respects my weaknesses, that the power of the Christ may like a tent remain over me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in cases of need, in persecutions and difficulties, for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am powerful.
Random thoughts came to mind tonight. I thought I would collect them and wrote this:
How long have you had ‘a thorn in the flesh’? Months? Years? We don’t know what the apostle Paul’s was or how long. But Jehovah’s answer when he asked for it to be removed was, “My undeserved kindness is sufficient for you; for [my] power is being made perfect in weakness.”
Suffering with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) for four years now I sometimes lose track of what is important. And, perhaps, this may be the case for other who suffer an illness or face challenges that result from being a true Christian. I miss many meetings, my field service has suffered, my focus is scattered. But why do we focus on the negative so much? Because it hurts us to know that we must do all we can serve Jehovah but our bodies just don’t allow us to.
And yet we have something so valuable we have received: Jehovah’s “undeserved kindness.” If something is undeserved we have not earned it. Our decrepit bodies are flawed. We inherit sin the moment we are conceived. We do not deserve to receive Jehovah’s blessings, but we do. “My power is being made perfect in weakness,” says God. As much or as little as we can do theocratically brings joy to Jehovah and honor to his name. As long as we do what is in our power to remain faithful God has promised to give us “everlasting life” – Jn 17:3.
We have our brothers and his holy spirit to console us, comfort us, lift us, study the Bible and meditate on it. We are moved to do what is in our power and sometimes even more than what we can imagine.
How long can we endure? Joshua and Caleb waited more than 40 years. Imagine being born into captivity and hearing the stories of how Jehovah will send a deliverer. Finally he arrives. Things look worse, less straw for brick and more allotments to be made. Then the 10 plagues, a parting of the sea, Israelites falling to idolatry and then arriving at the border of the ‘promised land.’ Out to spy Caleb and Joshua go. What a sight! Just as Jehovah described! A land flowing with milk and honey.
But wait the men look tall. 6 feet, maybe taller. With everything they have witnessed nothing can stop them! Jehovah is on their side! Too bad the other 10 spies don’t have the same faith. And they convince a nation of perhaps more that 3.5 million that they cannot win. The sentence from Jehovah for a lack of faith? Wander the desert for 40 years until all of the age of 20 and up die, except for Joshua, Caleb and their respective families – Numbers 13 and 14.
The ‘promised land’ in their grasp! But not to be. Now if they could endure a ‘stiff-necked people’ for 40 years plus the years as slaves before, could we not endure our ‘thorn in the flesh’? – Deut 9:13, 14. Caleb and Joshua were blessed by Jehovah, and they too were mere fleshly humans. Jehovah recompensed them for being loyal. They endured to reach the “promised land.” They focused on what lay ahead and not dwell on the present.
In Jehovah’s ‘undeserved kindness’ he has promised us a land, too: Paradise – Luke 23:43. And, so, if we can focus on what lays ahead for us it doesn’t matter how long it takes; we will reach our promised land. Our thorns are temporary; don’t focus too much on them. Instead endure by holding on to Jehovah’s ‘undeserved kindness.’

Jehovah provides escape Ps. 18:2
#DTK "'Jehovah is my crag and my stronghold and the Provider of escape for me.'—Ps. 18:2.
When the women of Israel began praising David for his military prowess, King Saul became so consumed with jealousy that on two occasions he hurled his spear at David. (1 Sam. 18:6-9) Both times David escaped the sharp tip of the spear. Was this simply because of David’s skill and agility as an experienced warrior? No. The Bible record explains that “Jehovah was with him.” (1 Sam. 18:11-14) Later, when Saul’s scheme to have David killed by the Philistines failed, “Saul got to see and know that Jehovah was with David.” (1 Sam. 18:17-28) To whom did David give credit for his deliverance? The superscription to Psalm 18 says that David “spoke to Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah had delivered him . . . out of the hand of Saul.” Is it not faith-strengthening to know that Jehovah is capable of delivering his people?—Ps. 35:10. w08 9/15 1:8, 9"

A good point I picked up this weekend. 2 Tim 4:5 '...keep your senses in all things, suffer evil,do the work of an evangelizer, fully 9complish your ministry.'. About how we go through our problems and we want to sat home from service, etc; but the Bible (and Jehovah) tells us that we WILL suffer evil ,but we don't need to let it STOP us from accomplishing our ministry. And if we think about it, we may feel bad but when we go to meetings or in service we do feel better and the problems go away for a little while. Jah is truly a refuge!

David trusted Jehovah

"How much the perspectives of Saul and David differ.Saul sees a shepherd boy pitted against a hardened giant. David, however, sees a man defying the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. While Goliath boasts of his strength, David places his confidence in Jehovah, assessing the situation from God's point of view."

While Goliath boasts of his strength, David places his confidence in Jehovah, assessing the situation from God's point of view."

trust in Jah Ps 9:10
#DTK "' Those knowing your name will trust in you, for you will certainly not leave those looking for you, O Jehovah.'—Ps. 9:10.
If we truly know Jehovah and look to his name with respect for what it stands for, we will trust in him. Note how God’s Word makes a connection between trusting in Jehovah and respecting him. When ancient Israel failed to trust in Him, Jehovah asked Moses: “How long will this people treat me without respect, and how long will they not put faith in me for all the signs that I performed in among them?” (Num. 14:11) By trusting in Jehovah to protect and sustain us even during trials, we show that we respect him. Jesus indicated that respect for Jehovah must come from the inner person. Speaking to those whose worship was not sincere, Jesus quoted Jehovah as saying: “This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me.” (Matt. 15:8) Sincere respect for Jehovah springs from heartfelt love for him.—1 John 5:3. w08 10/15 4:5, 6"

How to REALLY HELP someone who has to cope with depression
RT @SisMargitt
Through the years I’ve had many depressions, as well due to my illnesses (bipolar disorder and others) as due to my traumatic childhood. I’ve been coping with this awful illness for over 20 years.
I’ve even managed to help others get through depressions.
I know a lot of my friends are coping with depressions too.
Something I always notice is that one of the most given advices to a depressed person is to pray…
I know you mean well sweet people and please realize I do not mean to offend anyone with what I’m about to say now!
When you give advice to someone who’s dealing with depression, or coping with depressive feelings, please be very careful. If you do not know what it’s like, it most likely is better if you do NOT give any advice. Just offer your support, hugs, love etc.
One of the most often given advices is to “pray”. I know when you see someone hurt, you want to help them as much as you can and as Sisters and Brothers we all know that Jehovah is the best person to help someone. However, when someone is feeling depressed, he or she most likely has already cried out to Jehovah! Telling someone at that point to pray can give that person the feeling he or she doesn’t pray enough and even can make him or her think it’s their own fault just because they didn’t pray enough…
When someone gives me that advice when I’m so depressed, it always make me feel like a failure even more, because it gives me the idea I do not try hard enough and that’s why I feel so bad… I know they mean well, but when someone is in the middle of a depression, it can be hard. As if we do not pray enough! So I tend to avoid giving this as advice to someone who is feeling (regularly) depressed.
Someone who’s depressed often CANNOT think straight and although such advice is meant well and given with all the right intentions, the depressed person often cannot see it as you meant it!
Often depressions are caused because of diseases or trauma. It is not our fault, and it CANNOT be avoided by praying, just as Jehovah doesn’t stop other illnesses to hit us. Jehovah does help us to cope, to get through it, to learn to live with it in the best way possible while still in this system. And he even does so when we do not ask him! Because it can happen that when someone is depressed, he or she doesn’t feel worthy to ask Jehovah anything.
Sometimes I’m not able to pray at those darkest times, just because I see myself as unworthy and feel guilty of being so unhappy while Jehovah has blessed me so much… Also I often do not care anymore when I’m really deep. Then I don’t care if he helps or not, because I don’t want to live and feel like I don’t deserve to live. So when someone says to me at that very moment to pray, it often makes me even hate myself more, because I can’t and therefore it’s my own fault etc.
However, this does NOT matter to Jehovah! He knows how we suffer when we feel that way. HE HELPS US ANYWAY, IF WE ASK HIM OR NOT!
So if you want to REALLY help a depressed person, you can do this best to just listen to their cry, assure them that you are there for them, hug them, make them feel loved and appreciated, and above all: assure them that Jehovah will help them through this! (NO matter if they can pray or not!)
And YOU yourself CAN pray for them: to endure, to get through, to hold on and to get back up. YOU CAN ask Jehovah to help them!
Some supportive Scriptures:
(Psalm 121:2) My help is from Jehovah, The Maker of heaven and earth.
(Psalm 34:18) Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; And those who are crushed in spirit he saves.
(Psalm 34:15) The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous ones, And his ears are toward their cry for help.
(Psalm 40:1) I earnestly hoped in Jehovah, And so he inclined [his ear] to me and heard my cry for help.
(Isaiah 41:13) For I, Jehovah your God, am grasping your right hand, the One saying to you, ‘Do not be afraid. I myself will help you.’
(Psalm 55:22) Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, And he himself will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to totter.

You are the light of the world
#DTK JWs "' You are the light of the world.'—Matt. 5:14.
Jesus told his disciples that they were “the light of the world” and urged them to let their light shine so that people might see their “fine works,” or good deeds to others. This would result in spiritual illumination “before men,” or for the benefit of mankind. (Matt. 5:16) Today, we let our light shine by doing good to our neighbors and by sharing in the work of preaching the good news “in all the world,” that is, “in all the nations.” (Matt. 26:13; Mark 13:10) What a privilege we enjoy! Jesus did not want his disciples to hide their spiritual light under a figurative measuring basket. (Matt. 5:15) So we must let our light shine, never permitting opposition or persecution to make us hide Scriptural truth or keep it to ourselves. w08 5/15 1:12, 14"

Day 118 - endure till the end
#DTK JWs "'He that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.'—Matt. 10:22.
Pursuing the goal of everlasting life requires endurance. Jesus showed how his disciples could get the needed strength to endure. In one illustration, he likened rocky soil to individuals who “receive [God’s] word with joy” but fall away when faced with tests of faith. However, he likened his faithful followers to fine soil in that they “retain” the word of God and “bear fruit with endurance.” (Luke 8:13, 15) Did you notice the secret to endurance? We must “retain” God’s word, keeping it alive in our hearts and minds. Our meditating on a portion of God’s Word every day will help us to find the needed strength to keep on bearing fruit “with endurance.”—Ps. 1:1, 2. w08 6/15 2:14-16

keep on seeking first the Kingdom
#DTK JWs "'Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and [God’s] righteousness.'—Matt. 6:33.
Jesus assures us that if we do this, the things we really need will be added to us. How can we show that we believe this promise? One way is to abide by God’s standard of what is right as regards financial matters. For instance, we refuse to falsify our tax returns or to tell even “little” lies in our business dealings. We do all within our power to honor our financial commitments, letting our “Yes mean Yes” when it comes to paying off debts. (Matt. 5:37; Ps. 37:21) Such honesty may not make a person rich, but it brings God’s approval, produces a clean conscience, and greatly reduces anxiety. Seeking first the Kingdom involves having our priorities in order, so that possessions and pleasure are not our masters, but are tools that help us worship Jehovah. And the more active we are in work that supports God’s Kingdom, the less likely we are to be overcome by the spirit of the world. w08 9/15 4:17, 18

A JW WORKING AT WENDYS
A sister worked at Wendy's as an assistant manager. One day as she was
working at the counter, a priest came in and she took his order. When
the order was ready she told him, "that will be $3.79 please, sir."
He said, "What?"
She repeated, "That will be $3.79 please, sir"
He said 'You're mistaken! It's Father.'
She told him, I'm sorry, my father is working today.'
He said "You're supposed to call me 'Father'."
She told him "The Bible says to call no man 'Father'."
He exclaimed, "These Jehovah's Witnesses are everywhere!" and left without
his order.
The next day he returned and asked for her. The manager informed her that a
priest was there to see her. She wondered what he wanted.
When she went out, he asked "Do you remember Me?"
"Yes, you forgot your order." She replied.
He said 'Never mind that. What I wanted was to know where the Bible
says to call no man Father.'
"You're asking me?!" the sister asked. She then showed him
Matthew 23:9 in the Bible he had brought.
He said, "I never knew that. Why do they call me Father?"
They talked a little while and she told him if he would come back, she
would give him a 'Knowledge' book.
He came back on a Wednesday and she gave him the book.
They talked a little while reading the book and having coffee.
Thursday he came back to return the book.
On Friday he came in about 2:30 p.m. and asked her "Guess who came to my
house this morning at 10:30?"
When she said she did not know, he told
her 'Jehovah's Witnesses.' He had thought she had sent them but she did
not know where he lived. They had just been going from house to house.
He told her 'I started a Bible Study.' He felt what they said made sense and
he had been thinking about the things she had been teaching which were
scriptural.
A few months went by and one day he came in to see her.
'What's new?' she asked.
'I got baptized a week ago. You can now call me brother.'
He was on his way back home to Italy after spending a year in Canada.
His family is now studying.
Don't hold back from Matthew 24:14. Enjoy a new day serving Jehovah.

When King David of ancient Israel was a shepherd boy, Jehovah saved him from the attacks of wild animals. God supported him in his fight with Goliath and rescued him from many other calamities. (1 Sam. 17:32-51; Ps. 18, superscription) David was moved to write: “Many things you yourself have done, O Jehovah my God, even your wonderful works and your thoughts toward us; there is none to be compared to you.” (Ps. 40:5) David came to love Jehovah deeply and wanted to praise Him with his whole heart and mind. (Ps. 40:8-10) As the years passed, David never regretted spending his life worshipping the true God. Living with godly devotion was his greatest treasure—a source of happiness without equal. In old age, David said: “You are my hope, O Sovereign Lord Jehovah, my confidence from my youth.” (Ps. 71:5) David’s trust in Jehovah and friendship with Him became stronger, even though his physical strength had waned. w08 5/15 4:18, 19"

Will reap even with a joyful cry.

Carrying along a bagful of seed,
Will without fail come in with a joyful cry,
Carrying along his sheaves."

Ps 23
RT @ColinEnglish: @MadCoreyLee Though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil. For God is with me. (paraphrase of Psalm 23)
23 "Jehovah is my Shepherd. I shall lack nothing. 2 In grassy pastures he makes me lie down; By well-watered resting-places he conducts me. 3 My soul he refreshes. He leads me in the tracks of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk in the valley of deep shadow, I fear nothing bad, For you are with me; Your rod and your staff are the things that comfort me. 5 You arrange before me a table in front of those showing hostility to me. With oil you have greased my head; My cup is well filled. 6 Surely goodness and loving-kindness themselves will pursue me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of Jehovah to the length of days."

In his old age, Solomon became unfaithful to Jehovah and began to engage in false worship. (1 Ki. 11:4-6) Gradually, Solomon ceased to obey Jehovah’s laws and became increasingly oppressive. This happened to such an extent that after his death, people complained about him to his son and successor, Rehoboam, and requested relief. (1 Ki. 12:4) How did Jehovah respond when Solomon became unfaithful? The Bible tells us: “Jehovah came to be incensed at Solomon, because his heart had inclined away from . . . the God of Israel, the one appearing to him twice.” Jehovah told Solomon: “For the reason that . . . you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I laid in command upon you, I shall without fail rip the kingdom away from off you, and I shall certainly give it to your servant.”—1 Ki. 11:9-11. w08 8/15 1:4-6"

Pursue love
#DTK JWs "'Pursue . . . love.'—2 Tim. 2:22.
Our godly devotion must include obedience to Jesus’ new commandment to “love one another” as he loved us. (John 13:34) The apostle John pointed out: “Whoever has this world’s means for supporting life and beholds his brother having need and yet shuts the door of his tender compassions upon him, in what way does the love of God remain in him?” (1 John 3:17) Can you think of occasions when you have displayed love in a practical way? Another way in which we pursue love is by being forgiving, not nursing grudges against our brothers. (1 John 4:20) We want to follow the inspired counsel: “Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely if anyone has a cause for complaint against another. Even as Jehovah freely forgave you, so do you also.” (Col. 3:13) Is there someone in the congregation toward whom you could apply this counsel? Will you forgive him or her? w08 6/15 2:4, 12, 13"

#DTK JWs "'God, do not keep far away from me. O my God, do hurry to my assistance."—Ps. 71:12.
When David had been faced with determined enemies who were out to take his life, he chose not to take matters into his own hands. Instead, he trusted that Jehovah would deal with the opposers in his own time and way. (1 Sam. 26:10) David had no doubt that he would receive divine help. He continued firmly convinced that Jehovah helps and delivers those who seek him. (Heb. 11:6) David believed that such true worshippers have every reason to rejoice and to magnify Jehovah by telling others about his greatness. (Ps. 5:11; 35:27) Like David, we can have full confidence that Jehovah is our Helper and “the Provider of escape” for us. (Ps. 70:5) Hence, when we face difficult trials or feel in desperate need of assistance, we can rightly pray that Jehovah quickly come to our aid. w08 9/15 1:3-5"

day 102 we are walking by faith
JWs #DTK "'We are walking by faith, not by sight.'—2 Cor. 5:7.
Why is faith important? Well, Jehovah leads us in “the tracks of righteousness,” but those tracks do not lead to wealth or privilege in this world. (Ps. 23:3) For that reason, our eye of faith needs to be fixed on the incomparable spiritual rewards that come from serving Jehovah. (2 Cor. 4:17, 18) And faith helps us to be content with modest material provisions. (1 Tim. 6:8) Jesus indicated that true worship involves self-sacrifice, which also takes faith. (Luke 9:23, 24) Some faithful worshippers have made great sacrifices, enduring poverty, oppression, prejudice, even severe persecution. (2 Cor. 11:23-27; Rev. 3:8-10) Only strong faith enabled them to do so with joy. (Jas. 1:2, 3) Strong faith makes us absolutely confident that following Jehovah’s guidance is always best. We have no doubt whatsoever that the reward for those who loyally endure is far greater than any temporary suffering.—Heb. 11:6. w08 4/15 2:12, 13:"

day 89 - a cool return visit
RT On Thursday 11th March 2010, @rosepink1984 said:
Well, breakfast with my return visit was really good today! It's always very hectic at her house, things are always happening, phone ringing, people coming, she suddenly has to sweep the floor, load the dishwasher etc so it took a while to sit down and talk but once we did it was really good. She has a more settled job now (before she was doing two jobs for an agency so never really knew what her hours were.) which has more regular hours, and wants to get into a proper routine. She feels that she will have time to study again, and said she got more out of it before than she realised. It would also be good for her son who is in his early teens and struggling with all of that.
I explained that it's very important to study the Bible and go to meetings, and that Jehovah commands us to do so. We read John 17v3 - and I asked her what she could receive if she took in knowledge of God. A: Everlasting life. What would happen if she didn't? She looked shocked and said she wouldn't receive it (she's learned about the paradise in the past and really looks forward to being there, so the thought of not being there was a shock!). I asked how she could take in knowledge of Jehovah - by studying and meetings.
Then we read Heb 10v23-25 - at the end of v25, it says "all the more so as you behold the day drawing near." I asked her what day that was, and she said Armageddon. And does she feel it's drawing near, based on studies we've had before about the signs of the times - we discussed all the earthquakes and terrible things that have been happening lately. So what do we need to "all the more so"? She got the point.
I told her about a friend of mine who has had several operations on her leg, and has to have physio several times a week. Without that physio, her leg won't work properly and due to the damage done to it several years ago, she might even have to have it amputated. The meetings are like a spiritual version of physio - without them, our spirituality will die and we might end up cut off from Jehovah and his family. Physio is vital for my friend, and we need to view the meetings as vital for us.
At the end of our time together, her determination to put spiritual things first was renewed. Satan will try to stop her, and we spoke of that. In the past when she's studied for a few months, things at work have got very hectic and she stops studying. But I really hope that this time she will realise what he's doing and not let him rule her life.
We got out our diaries and booked in when we are going to study and the meetings she plans to attend. We have our CO's visit next week so she put that in, and the Memorial. I really hope she will come. Please keep her in your prayers if you can, thanks

day 88 Could it happen again?
WITH those words, President Dmitri Medvedev
called on all of us to think seriously about what
happened during one of the darkest periods of our
history—the brutal repression of millions of our fellow
citizens. The President’s words, like the Day of
Remembrance, reflect a noble ideal: that recalling
the mistakes of the past should prevent those mistakes
from occurring again.
The purpose of this tract is twofold: first, to share
with you a part of that dark history that you may
never have been told about; second, to alert you to
a serious danger—that history might, indeed, repeat
itself. In fact, there are signs that the process
has already begun.

day 85 a happy experience
my best friend's son just called me. he lives in the state hopsital, but he says he wants someone to study the Bible with him, and to be able to go to meetings!
day84 - go on carrying the burdens of one another
JWs #DTK "' Go on carrying the burdens of one another, and thus fulfill the law of the Christ.'—Gal. 6:2.
God gives the families of older ones the primary responsibility to provide for them. (1 Tim. 5:4, 8) Jehovah is pleased when families fulfill their obligation toward elderly relatives and thus show that they care about older ones as he himself does. God supports these families and blesses them for their efforts and for all their sacrifices. Similarly, Jehovah is pleased when local congregations assist faithful older ones who are in need but have no believing or willing family members to care for them. (1 Tim. 5:3, 5, 9, 10) Congregations thereby show that they have ‘fellow feeling, brotherly affection, and tender compassion’ for the elderly. (1 Pet. 3:8) Their concern for older congregation members is well-illustrated by Paul when he points out that if one member of the human body suffers, “all the other members suffer with it.”—1 Cor. 12:26. w08 8/15 4:7, 8"

day 82 - life not result from riches
(Luke 12:15) 'Then he said to them: “Keep YOUR eyes open and guard against every sort of covetousness, because even when a person has an abundance his life does not result from the things he possesses.”'
day 81 - do not avenge yourselves
(Romans 12:19) 'Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says Jehovah.”'
day 79 - a God of saving acts
#DTK "' The true God is for us a God of saving acts.'—Ps. 68:20.
From the inspired Bible record then available, David knew that the righteous can count on Jehovah to help them. When Jehovah brought the Deluge upon an ungodly world, he preserved alive Noah and his God-fearing family. (Gen. 7:23) When Jehovah rained down fire and sulfur upon the wicked inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, he helped righteous Lot and his two daughters to escape with their lives. (Gen. 19:12-26) When Jehovah destroyed proud Pharaoh and his military forces in the Red Sea, He kept his people safe, thus helping them to escape a terrible end. (Ex. 14:19-28) David also had a very personal reason for placing his implicit trust in Jehovah’s saving power. David had experienced firsthand that Jehovah’s “everlasting arms” can deliver those who serve Him. (Deut. 33:27, American Standard Version) On more than one occasion, Jehovah had saved David from the clutches of “angry enemies.”—Ps. 18:17-19, 48. w08 9/15 1:6, 7"

day 74 our Grand Instructor
DTK "'Your eyes must become eyes seeing your Grand Instructor.'—Isa. 30:20.
You have likely had experiences that convinced you of God’s personal interest in you, which strengthened your faith. Perhaps Jehovah proved himself to be in some way a Provider, a Comforter, or a Teacher. (Isa. 30:21) Or you may have sensed a clear answer to a prayer. You might have been facing a challenge, and then a fellow Christian provided help. Or personal study may have brought appropriate scriptures to your attention. Yes, Jehovah proved to be just what he needed to be for you. Think back on your years in the truth. Can you recall more than one occasion when you felt Jehovah’s personal care in your life? If so, remembering those events and how they made you feel can stimulate in your heart the same feelings of love for Jehovah that you felt back then. Treasure those experiences. Meditate upon them. They are proof that Jehovah is interested in you personally. w08 6/15 4:9, 10"
docdaver: @bc0035 Thx for the days text highlights sister. Jehovah is truly a grand instructor. As we travel through time, we can look back and see his wisdom of how he is gracious, merciful and patient with all of us. We see only short sighted views, but when we are instructed through his word, our eyes are opened.

day 59: counted worthy to be dishonored for our beliefs
(Acts 5:41) These, therefore, went their way from before the San′he‧drin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy to be dishonored in behalf of his name.
day 58: Jah is a lover of justice
(Psalm 37:28) For Jehovah is a lover of justice, And he will not leave his loyal ones. To time indefinite they will certainly be guarded; But as for the offspring of the wicked ones, they will indeed be cut off.

and, of course pray for them , that Jehovah will help them to hold onto him.
they also could write to the branch, to get the address for the district overseer [if the cicuit overseer is part of the problem, too] and maybe they could get some support from him [worth a try, maybe]

day 49 Jah provides escape
#DTK "'O God, . . . you are my help and the Provider of escape for me.'—Ps. 70:5.
A 20-year-old Witness is diagnosed with a disease that will eventually leave him completely paralyzed. Immediately he turns to Jehovah in prayer. A single mother struggling to find a job does not have enough money to buy food for herself and her 12-year-old daughter. She pours out her heart to Jehovah. Yes, when faced with severe trials or hardships, God’s worshippers naturally turn to him for help. Have you ever called out to Jehovah in a time of desperate need? An important question arises: Can we really expect Jehovah to respond to our prayers for help? The faith-strengthening answer is found in Psalm 70. This stirring psalm was written by David, a loyal worshipper of Jehovah who faced many difficult trials and challenges during his life. This inspired psalmist was moved to say that Jehovah is truly “the Provider of escape.” w08 9/15 1:1, 2"

day 48 - Jah will not leave his loyal ones
#DTK "'Jehovah is a lover of justice, and he will not leave his loyal ones. To time indefinite they will certainly be guarded . . . The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.'—Ps. 37:28, 29.
In a number of ways, Jehovah offers guidance, and we do well to take full advantage of it. Speaking of a time when Israel proved faithful, King David said: “In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you kept providing them with escape. To you they cried out, and they got away safe; in you they trusted, and they did not come to shame.” (Ps. 22:3-5) If we trustingly follow Jehovah’s guidance, we too will “not come to shame.” We will not be disappointed in our hope. If we ‘roll upon Jehovah our way,’ instead of relying on our own wisdom, the results will be rich blessings even now. (Ps. 37:5) And if we loyally persevere in that course, those blessings will be eternal. w08 4/15 2:19"

day 47 - You Are Precious in God’s Eyes!
r*p* tweeted that she feels useless, and this is my response to her:
You Are Precious in God’s Eyes!
“With a love to time indefinite I have loved you. That is why I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”—JEREMIAH 31:3.
THEY could see it in his eyes. This man, Jesus, was nothing like their religious leaders; he cared. He felt pity for these people because they “were skinned and thrown about like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36) Their religious leaders were supposed to be loving shepherds representing a loving, merciful God. Instead, they looked down on the common people as mere rabble—and accursed! (John 7:47-49; compare Ezekiel 34:4.) Clearly, such a warped, unscriptural outlook was a far cry from Jehovah’s view of his people. He had told his nation, Israel: “With a love to time indefinite I have loved you.”—Jeremiah 31:3.
2 The Pharisees, though, were hardly the first to try to convince Jehovah’s beloved sheep that they were worthless. Consider the case of Job. To Jehovah he was righteous and blameless, but the three “comforters” insinuated that Job was an immoral, wicked apostate who would die without leaving a trace behind him. They asserted that God would not value any righteousness on Job’s part, since God did not trust even his own angels and viewed heaven itself as unclean!—Job 1:8; 4:18; 15:15, 16; 18:17-19; 22:3.
3 Today, Satan is still using this ‘crafty act’ of trying to convince people that they are unloved and worthless. (Ephesians 6:11, footnote) True, he often seduces people by appealing to their vanity and pride. (2 Corinthians 11:3) But he also delights in crushing the self-respect of vulnerable ones. This is particularly so in these critical “last days.” Many today grow up in families where there is “no natural affection”; many have to deal daily with those who are fierce, selfish, and headstrong. (2 Timothy 3:1-5) Years of ill-treatment, racism, hatred, or abuse may have convinced such ones that they are worthless and unlovable. One man wrote: “I don’t feel love for or loved by anyone. I find it very difficult to believe that God cares anything about me.”
4 The idea of personal worthlessness stabs at the heart of the truth of God’s Word, the teaching of the ransom. (John 3:16) If God would pay so high a price—his own Son’s precious life—to buy us an opportunity to live forever, surely He must love us; surely we must be worth something in His eyes!
5 Furthermore, how discouraging it would be to feel that we are displeasing to God, that none of our efforts are worth anything! (Compare Proverbs 24:10.) In this negative light, even well-meant encouragement, designed to help us further our service to God where possible, may to some sound instead like condemnation. It may seem to echo our own inner conviction that whatever we do is not enough.
6 If you sense such negative feelings in yourself, do not despair. Many of us are unreasonably hard on ourselves from time to time. And remember, God’s Word is designed for “setting things straight” and for “overturning strongly entrenched things.” (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Corinthians 10:4) The apostle John wrote: “By this we shall know that we originate with the truth, and we shall assure our hearts before him as regards whatever our hearts may condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things.” (1 John 3:19, 20) Let us consider, then, three ways in which the Bible teaches us that we are precious to Jehovah.
Jehovah Values You
7 First, the Bible directly teaches that each one of us has worth in God’s eyes. Jesus said: “Five sparrows sell for two coins of small value, do they not? Yet not one of them goes forgotten before God. But even the hairs of your heads are all numbered. Have no fear; you are worth more than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:6, 7) In those days, the sparrow was the cheapest of the birds sold as food, yet not one of them went unnoticed by its Creator. Thus the groundwork is laid for a stunning contrast: When it comes to humans—who are worth far, far more—God knows every detail. It is as if the very hairs of our heads were individually numbered!
8 The hairs numbered? If you suspect that this aspect of Jesus’ illustration is unrealistic, consider: God remembers his faithful servants so completely that he is able to resurrect them— re-creating them in every detail, including their complex genetic codes and all their years of memories and experiences. Numbering our hairs (of which the average head sprouts about 100,000) would be a simple feat by comparison!—Luke 20:37, 38.
What Does Jehovah See in Us?
9 Second, the Bible teaches us what Jehovah values in us. Simply put, he delights in our positive qualities and in our efforts. King David told his son Solomon: “All hearts Jehovah is searching, and every inclination of the thoughts he is discerning.” (1 Chronicles 28:9) As God searches through billions of human hearts in this violent, hate-filled world, how delighted he must be when he comes upon a heart that loves peace, truth, and righteousness! (Compare John 1:47; 1 Peter 3:4.) What happens when God finds a heart that swells with love for him, that seeks to learn about him and share such knowledge with others? At Malachi 3:16, Jehovah tells us that he listens to those who speak with others about him and even has “a book of remembrance” for all “those in fear of Jehovah and for those thinking upon his name.” Such qualities are precious to him!
10 The self-condemning heart, however, may resist such evidence of our value in the eyes of God. It may insistently whisper, ‘But there are so many others who are more exemplary in those qualities than I am. How disappointed Jehovah must be when he compares me with them!’ Jehovah does not compare, nor is he a rigid, all-or-nothing thinker. (Galatians 6:4) It is with great subtlety that he reads hearts, and he values good qualities in all degrees.
11 For instance, when Jehovah decreed that the entire apostate dynasty of King Jeroboam was to be executed, cleared away like “dung,” He ordered that just one of the king’s sons, Abijah, be given a decent burial. Why? “Something good toward Jehovah the God of Israel has been found in him.” (1 Kings 14:10, 13) Did this mean that Abijah was a faithful worshiper of Jehovah? Not necessarily, since he died, as did the rest of his wicked household. (Deuteronomy 24:16) Still, Jehovah valued the “something good” that he saw in Abijah’s heart and acted accordingly. Matthew Henry’s Commentary on the Whole Bible notes: “Where there is but some good thing of that kind, it will be found: God that seeks it, sees it, be it ever so little, and is pleased with it.” And do not forget that if God finds even a small measure of some good quality in you, he can make it grow as long as you endeavor to serve him faithfully.
12 Jehovah values our efforts in a similar manner. At Psalm 139:1-3, we read: “O Jehovah, you have searched through me, and you know me. You yourself have come to know my sitting down and my rising up. You have considered my thought from far off. My journeying and my lying outstretched you have measured off, and you have become familiar even with all my ways.” So Jehovah is aware of all our doings. But he is far more than just aware. In Hebrew the phrase “you have become familiar even with all my ways” may also carry the meaning “you treasure up all my ways” or “you cherish all my ways.” (Compare Matthew 6:19, 20.) How, though, could Jehovah cherish our ways when we are so imperfect and sinful?
13 Interestingly, according to some scholars, when David wrote that Jehovah had “measured off” his journeys and rest periods, the Hebrew literally meant to “sift” or “winnow.” One reference work observed: “It means . . . to winnow out all the chaff, and to leave all the grain—to save all that is valuable. So here it means that God, as it were, sifted him. . . . He scattered all that was chaff, or all that was valueless, and saw what there was that was real and substantial.” The self-condemning heart may sift our doings in the opposite way, berating us mercilessly for past errors and dismissing our accomplishments as nothing. But Jehovah forgives our sins if we sincerely repent and strive hard not to repeat our mistakes. (Psalm 103:10-14; Acts 3:19) He sifts out and remembers our good works. In fact, he remembers them forever as long as we remain faithful to him. He would view it as unrighteousness to forget these, and he is never unrighteous!—Hebrews 6:10.
14 What are some of the good works that God values? Virtually anything we do in imitation of his Son, Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:21) Certainly one very important work, then, is the spreading of the good news of God’s Kingdom. At Romans 10:15, we read: “How comely are the feet of those who declare good news of good things!” While we may not normally think of our lowly feet as “comely,” the word Paul used here was the same one used in the Greek Septuagint version to describe Rebekah, Rachel, and Joseph—all three of whom were noted for their beauty. (Genesis 26:7; 29:17; 39:6) So our moving about in the service of our God, Jehovah, is very beautiful and precious in his eyes.—Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20.
15 Another quality that God values is our endurance. (Matthew 24:13) Remember, Satan wants you to turn your back on Jehovah. Each day that you remain loyal to Jehovah is another day that you have helped to furnish a reply to Satan’s taunts. (Proverbs 27:11) Sometimes endurance is no easy matter. Health problems, financial woes, emotional distress, and other obstacles can make each passing day a trial. Endurance in the face of such trials is all the more precious to Jehovah. That is why King David asked Jehovah to store up his tears in a figurative “skin bottle,” asking confidently, “Are they not in your book?” (Psalm 56:8) Yes, Jehovah treasures up and remembers all the tears and suffering we endure in maintaining our loyalty to him. They too are precious in his eyes.
16 In view of our finer qualities and our efforts, how clear it is that Jehovah finds much to value in each of us! No matter how Satan’s world has treated us, Jehovah views us as precious and part of “the desirable things of all the nations.”—Haggai 2:7.
What Jehovah Has Done to Demonstrate His Love
17 Third, Jehovah does much to prove his love for us. Surely, Christ’s ransom sacrifice is the most potent answer to the satanic lie that we are worthless or unlovable. Never should we forget that the agonizing death Jesus suffered on the torture stake and the even greater agony Jehovah endured in watching his beloved Son’s death were proof of their love for us. Moreover, that love applies to us personally. That is how the apostle Paul saw it, for he wrote: “The Son of God . . . loved me and handed himself over for me.”—Galatians 2:20.
18 Jehovah has proved his love for us by helping us individually to take advantage of the benefits of Christ’s sacrifice. Jesus said at John 6:44: “No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him.” By means of the preaching work, which reaches us individually, and by means of his holy spirit, which Jehovah uses to help us grasp and apply spiritual truths despite our limitations and imperfections, Jehovah personally draws us toward his Son and the hope of eternal life. Jehovah can therefore say of us as he said of Israel: “With a love to time indefinite I have loved you. That is why I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”—Jeremiah 31:3.
19 Perhaps it is through the privilege of prayer, though, that we experience Jehovah’s love in the most intimate way. He invites each of us to “pray incessantly” to him. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) He listens! He is even called the “Hearer of prayer.” (Psalm 65:2) He has not delegated this office to any other person, not even to his own Son. Just think: The Creator of the universe urges us to approach him in prayer, with freeness of speech. Your supplications may even move Jehovah to do what he might not otherwise have done.—Hebrews 4:16; James 5:16; see Isaiah 38:1-16.
20 No balanced Christian would take such evidence of God’s love and esteem as an excuse to view himself as more important than he really is. Paul wrote: “Through the undeserved kindness given to me I tell everyone there among you not to think more of himself than it is necessary to think; but to think so as to have a sound mind, each one as God has distributed to him a measure of faith.” (Romans 12:3) So while we bask in the warmth of our heavenly Father’s love, let us be sound in mind and remember that God’s loving-kindness is undeserved.—Compare Luke 17:10.
21 Let each of us do everything in our power to resist all the ideas that Satan promotes in this dying old world. That includes rejecting the thought that we are worthless or unloved. If life in this system has taught you to see yourself as an obstacle too daunting even for God’s immense love to surmount, or your good works as too insignificant even for his all-seeing eyes to notice, or your sins as too vast even for the death of his precious Son to cover, you have been taught a lie. Reject such lies with all the repugnance that they deserve! Let us keep ever in mind the inspired words of the apostle Paul at Romans 8:38, 39: “I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Mildness, or gentleness, is reflected in our conduct with regard to fellow humans. For instance, we “return evil for evil to no one.” (Rom. 12:17-19) Having Christlike mildness makes us pleasant and spiritually upbuilding members of the congregation. Mildness is part of the fruitage that God’s active force produces within us if we ‘live and walk by spirit.’ (Gal. 5:22-25) Surely we want to be counted among the mild-tempered individuals led by Jehovah’s holy spirit! Jesus, who was “mild-tempered and lowly in heart,” is the principal Inheritor of the earth. (Matt. 11:29; Heb. 1:2; Ps. 2:8) As “joint heirs with Christ,” 144,000 mild-tempered anointed ones will share in Jesus’ inheritance of the earth. day 43: direct your heart to Jah
"'Direct your heart unswervingly to Jehovah and serve him alone.'—1 Sam. 7:3.
The Bible does not say how old Samuel was when he died, but events in the book of First Samuel cover about 102 years, and Samuel witnessed most of them. At Hebrews 11:32, 33, we read that upright judges and prophets “effected righteousness.” Yes, Samuel influenced some of his contemporaries to avoid or abandon wrongdoing. (1 Sam. 7:2, 4) By what means? He was loyal to Jehovah throughout his life. (1 Sam. 12:2-5) He was not afraid to give strong counsel even to the king. (1 Sam. 15:16-29) In addition, Samuel, having “grown old and gray,” proved himself exemplary in praying with regard to others. He declared it “unthinkable . . . to sin against Jehovah by ceasing to pray” in behalf of his fellow Israelites. (1 Sam. 12:2, 23) All of this highlights that aged ones can exert an influence for good on fellow servants of Jehovah. w07 6/1 2:13, 14"

day 42: peaceable
"'If possible, as far as it depends upon you, be peaceable with all men.'—Rom. 12:18.
Peace—an aspect of the spirit’s fruitage—is a state of tranquillity and freedom from disturbance. Our heavenly Father is the God of peace, and we are given the assurance: “Jehovah himself will bless his people with peace.” (Ps. 29:11; 1 Cor. 14:33) Jesus told his disciples: “I leave you peace, I give you my peace.” (John 14:27) How would that help his followers? The peace that Jesus gave his disciples calmed their hearts and minds and allayed their fears. Especially did they have peace when they received the promised holy spirit. (John 14:26) Under the spirit’s influence and in answer to our prayers today, we enjoy the incomparable “peace of God,” which puts our heart and mind at rest. day 38: pray for calmness
@S*M* i am so sorry that she has had such a horrible effect on you.
have you ever tried journaling your feelings about her? [like, maybe after your dad leaves]
sometimes getting your feelings out on paper can help you to sort through them.
when people think of journaling, they always think they need to write; but one could make collages from magazine pictures, draw pictures, or just scribble!
in the meantime pray for calmness [especially in front of your dad!]
(Philippians 4:6-7)"Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let YOUR petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus."
how long is your dad going to stay? is he staying with your family, or in a hotel?
if the arrangements will make it too hard on you; your husband should tell him that he will have to rearrange his plans. [you have said that your hubby is supportive, right?]
these are just some thoughts that might possibly be helpful
i hope everything goes well!
and, please, try not to let your mother take away any more of your life [by thinking too much about the past]
your friends and Jehovah love you - that's what counts, now!

we should remember Hebrews 6:10 "For God is not unrighteous so as to forget YOUR work and the love YOU showed for his name"
day 36: forgiveness
#DTK "'Lord, how many times is my brother to sin against me and am I to forgive him? Up to seven times?'—Matt. 18:21.
In answer to Peter’s question, Jesus replied: “I say to you, not, Up to seven times, but, Up to seventy-seven times.” (Matt. 18:22) Yes, a merciful person is ready to forgive “up to seventy-seven times,” that is, without limit. Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount: “Stop judging that you may not be judged; for with what judgment you are judging, you will be judged . . . Why, then, do you look at the straw in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the rafter in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to extract the straw from your eye’; when, look! a rafter is in your own eye?” (Matt. 7:1-4) Therefore, we can practice mercy daily by putting up with the weaknesses of others without being judgmental or overly critical. Jehovah has forgiven us a huge debt of sin. Should we not also “forgive men their trespasses”?—Matt. 6:14, 15. w07 9/15 2:13, 14"

day 35: a lamp
#DTK "'Your word is a lamp to my foot, and a light to my roadway.'—Ps. 119:105.
God’s statements and reminders can help us to overcome obstacles that we may encounter on our path. When we read the Bible and let it guide us, we are experiencing firsthand what is described at Isaiah 30:21: “Your own ears will hear a word behind you saying: ‘This is the way. Walk in it, you people.’” Note, though, that Psalm 119:105 points to two related functions of God’s Word. First, it serves as a lamp to our foot. When we face day-to-day challenges, principles found in the Bible should guide our steps so that we make wise decisions and avoid the traps and pitfalls of this world. Second, God’s reminders light our roadway, helping us to make choices that are consistent with our hope of living forever in God’s promised Paradise. Thus, we will be able to discern the consequences—good or bad—of a particular course.—Rom. 14:21; 1 Tim. 6:9; Rev. 22:12. w07 5/1 1:4, 5"

day 34: 28 years of marriage
this is from my friend @ColinEnglish about how he feels about his lovely wife:
So, @florallle and I have been married for exactly 28 years today. And I love her more than ever. Aaaah!
My marriage vow had the promise to stay married "for as long as we live under Jehovah's arrangement". I want to live forever with Louise
Folks, marriage is a serious commitment. You must work to ensure its continuing success. It can bring endless joy and contentment. I know!
The basis for a truly happy marriage is to apply Christian principles in your lives together. Thank you, Jehovah, for this arrangement!
BC: @florallle @ColinEnglish wishing you a VERY happy anniversary; and may more to come - - FOREVER!

day 32: joyful heart
@R*S89 good girl! [for being determined to be positive](Proverbs 17:22) "A heart that is joyful does good as a curer"
day 31: forgiveness
#DTK "'If errors were what you watch, O Jah, O Jehovah, who could stand?'—Ps. 130:3.
Why did the onetime persecutor Saul embrace the faith of his victims? To Timothy, Paul wrote: “I was shown mercy [so] that by means of me as the foremost case Christ Jesus might demonstrate all his long-suffering for a sample of those who are going to rest their faith on him for everlasting life.” (1 Tim. 1:16) Jehovah forgave Paul, and receiving such undeserved kindness and mercy moved him to show love to others by preaching the good news to them. Jehovah likewise forgives our sins and mistakes. (Ps. 103:8-14) Without God’s mercy, none of us would have the joy of sacred service, nor could we look forward to receiving everlasting life. God’s undeserved kindness has been great toward all of us. Like Paul, therefore, we should desire to extend love to others by preaching to them and teaching them the truth and by strengthening our fellow believers.—Acts 14:21-23. w08 5/15 5:12, 13"

day 29: Jehovah will not leave his loyal ones
#DTK "'[Jehovah] will not leave his loyal ones.'—Ps. 37:28.
It is the tenth century B.C.E. and a time of decision. Civil war has narrowly been avoided by granting Israel’s restless northern tribes a measure of independence. Their newly appointed king, Jeroboam, quickly moves to consolidate his power by establishing a new State religion. He demands complete allegiance from his subjects. What will faithful servants of Jehovah do? Will they remain loyal to the God they worship? Thousands do, and Jehovah watches over them as they maintain their integrity. (1 Ki. 12:1-33; 2 Chron. 11:13, 14) The loyalty of God’s servants is being tested in our day too. “Your adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone,” warns the Bible. Can we successfully “take [our] stand against him, solid in the faith”? (1 Pet. 5:8, 9) Jehovah did not leave his loyal ones then, and he will not do so today. w08 8/15 1:1, 2"

day 24: hate what is bad
my son, who is 22, was acting in a highly inappropriate manner, and i was able to offer him wise, Bible-based counsel.
(Psalm 97:10) "O YOU lovers of Jehovah, hate what is bad..."
I didn't berate him or yell - just got him to reason on the way he was acting. : )
